With great sadness, we share the passing of Ron Thompson.
Ron was a longtime member of the Canadian Classic Rodeo Association and dedicated countless hours of volunteer service as a member of its board. Kind-hearted, incredibly approachable, and always willing to help, Ron was a friend to many and a valued part of the rodeo community. His generosity, warmth, and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Over the years, Ron also served as a judge at many rodeos, contributing his knowledge, experience, and passion to the sport he loved. In recognition of his dedication to the rodeo community, Ron was honored as a recipient of the Kenny McLean Cowboy of the Year Award.
Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched through his years of service, friendship, and involvement in rodeo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bassano Community Hall.
